Legislative Branch - Define implied powers. What is the debate surrounding implied powers?

Social Studies

Implied powers are not explicitly mentioned, that means that they are not definitely specified and can be a subject of a debate. Implied powers are implied by what is needed to perform other, specified, functions. The debate around them focuses on finding out which powers are those, since they're not directly specified ( and thus could be abused).

How does climate affect the type of house you live in or the clothes you wear
Elodia [21]
Climate can affect a lot about you: Such as If you live in a humid (Hot and sticky) area would you wear a fur coat & live in an igloo? (I should hope not) Or If you lived in the North (Where it snows A LOT!) would you wear shorts & a sleeveless t-shirt or live in a a house without insulation?

-Hope this helps!

What are the differences between a congressperson acting like a trustee and a congressperson acting like a delegate?
Dmitry [639]

Answer: Representative Greggs won her last election by more than 7% of the vote and feels confident that she is likely to be reelected. This may give her more room to vote with her conscience on bills, even if a majority of her constituents disagree with some of her positions; this is an example of trustee behavior.

However, Representative Carver is a Democrat representing a district that usually votes Republican and won his last election by only 1% of the vote, so he may feel in danger of losing his next election. He is more likely to act as a delegate, prioritizing his constituents' wishes over his own judgment, in order to guarantee a win in his next election.
