Metals higher in the reactivity series may displace least reactive metals from their salts. For example sodium is reactive than copper therefore it would displace copper ions from its salt. In this case, Sodium is more reactive than Magnesium and therefore magnesium cannot displace sodium ions from sodium sulfate , therefore, no reaction will take place.

what is the half life of a radioactive sample if 100.0 grams of it decays to 12.5 grams in 24.3 hours
frutty [35]

The Half-Life of the radioactive sample is 8.1 hours.

What is half life of a radioactive element?

The half-life of a radioactive substance is the time taken for half the amount of atoms in the given substance to decay.

12.5 grams remains out of 100 grams of the sample.

This is 1/8 of the original samples.

1/8 of the original sample reperesent three half-lives undergone.

Half-Life of the radioactive sample = 24.3/3 = 8.1 hours

Therefore, the Half-Life of the radioactive sample is 8.1 hours.

E.T. comes to visit you and brings along some alien crystals. How could you identify the elements in these crystals?
deff fn [24]
You can tell that a crystal is a crystal if it creates a rainbow prism effect. Or you can tell by tapping the crystal. If he crystal makes a musical ring noise (like how a glass cup would sound) it’s a crystal.

“A student in your class claims that chemical bonds and intermolecular forces are the same thing. Is this student correct? Justi
belka [17]

Answer:

The answer to your question is below

Explanation:

This student is wrong.

Chemical bonds are forces that hold atoms together to form a molecule or compound. These interactions are inside the molecule. Example

Ionic bond: NaCl (sodium and chlorine).

Intermolecular forces are weaker than chemical bonds and they are forces between atoms or molecules. These interactions are among different molecules.

Example

Two molecules of water interact forming hydrogen bridges.
