Why did the French plantation owners force African slaves to work without being fed?

History

The French plantation owners were occasionally forcing the African slaves to work without giving them food, and the main reason for that was because they were occasionally rebelling against their owners.

Even if there was just one of the slaves that was going to stand off and disobey its owner, or if he/she tries to escape, all of the other slaves owned by that owner will share the consequences.

In this way, the French were trying to demotivate the slaves to make troubles as it was not only the person that did something going to be in trouble, but also his family, his friends. It was a tactically well played move by the French to keep order, as most of the slaves were not going to dare to do such a thing and because of them all the others to suffer too.

how did the end of war and V-J Day change working conditions in the U.S.? What did it mean for women in particular?
Marina86 [1]

The correct answer is:

The victory for the Allies in the second World War II and the V-J, of Victory over Japan on August 14, 1945, changed the working conditions in the United States, especially for women.

World War II allowed many women to get job opportunities like never before. One industry where women started to work was in the military. The transition from home to work was not an easy one for women, basically for two factors. The first one, the challenges to be accepted in the workforce mostly dominated by men. The second one, the lack of childcare during working hours. Nevertheless, after the War, many women were fired. More than sixty percent of hired women were fired to give men the former jobs they had before the war. But women kept on working outside the home, slowly, they were gaining job spaces after the war.
