D. Polar regions receive less solar energy and heat per unit area than tropical regions

Less direct sunlight means that there is less concentration of direct solar rays. This would influence temperature and would ultimately create weather, and since this pattern continues of switching direct ray latitudes, this would create climate zones all over the Earth, and similar ones with similar latitude and terrain.

What is the manipulated variable in this experiment?
jasenka [17]

The correct answer is C. The temperature of the water

Explanation:

In an experiment such as the one described about the speed of snails in water, the manipulated variable is the factor or element that is manipulated on purpose. This means the researcher or researchers slightly change this element to compare how this affects another variable. In this context, the manipulated variable is the temperature of the water because researchers used three different temperatures (cool, room-temperature, and warm), and therefore they manipulated or changed this factor. Moreover, it is expected temperature affects the distance nails move, which is the main variable.

Drupady [299]

Students are investigating the distribution of dandelions using quadrats. The students could during their investigation is they can do the pH test and the effect if it is happening or not.

What is pH?

pH is the measurement of the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. PH is a scale that marks from 0 to 12. The substance above 7 is acidic and the substance that is basic comes after 7. 7 is the number for neutral, which is pure water. The pH test is very easy to conduct.

To be sure that pH of the soil will not affect the distribution of dandelions. They first test the pH of the soil.
