Which of the following sentences uses the passive voice?

English

Arada [10]3 years ago

<span>"Have you ever been taken to the State Fair?" is passive.
"</span><span>The team won the state championship." is active.
To differentiate is really easy! Passive voice is constructed by using "to be" and past participle (e.g. bought, cost, made, done, etc.) and put enfasis on the action, not on the person who did/does it.</span>

What is the theme of not waving but drowning, by stevie smith?
erastova [34]

Not Waving but Drowning Theme of Death. You'd think that there couldn't be a clearer distinction than the one between life and death, but "Not Waving but Drowning" goes out of its way to muddy the water, so to speak. The focus, after all, is a talking corpse who just won't shut up even though the living can't hear him.

Does this sentence contain a double negative? There aren’t any ripe bananas in this bunch. yes no
Irina-Kira [14]
The correct answer would be B) No because there is only one negative in the sentence and that would be ''aren't'' since that means are not, so since that's only one, and not two, its not a double.
