The correct answer is farmers.

The southern Italian immigrants were mostly peasants from poor, rural and agricultural regions. They wanted to improve their life and saw no other way to do so then immigration, as Italy was in a state of chaos: the country suffered from a series of natural disasters, the government was not stable and jobs were scarce.

Most of the immigrants were single young men. They were employed in manual labor and public works such as the construction of roads. The women worked in garment industry as seamstresses.

'Little Italies' were places were they lived, often overcrowded old tenants houses with poor hygiene standards.

Write two arguments in the debate over missouri statehood: one from the perspective of a
ivann1987 [24]

A debate from the perspective of a Northerner over Missouri Statehood would be one talking about the importance of limiting slavery.

A argument from a Southerner would be one arguing that Northerners should allow slavery in states that want slavery.

What were the arguments for Missouri Statehood?

Missouri wanted to gain admission into the Union as a slave state and the North did not want this because they were against slavery spreading to other parts of the Union.

Southerners on the other hand, wanted slavery in Missouri as they believed that it would increase the power of slave states in Congress. They therefore argued that territories such as Missouri that wanted slavery, should be free to have slavery.
