First quartile would 65 because....
well first order the numbers around : 55, 65,72,73,88,90,100

the median is 73, the first quartile in the medians of the numbers lower than the whole sets. That means  in the subset of the numbers the median would be: 55, 65, 72.
crossing out 55 and 72 you have 65.

In a large school district, it is known that 25% of all students entering kindergarten are already reading.
irina [24]

Answer:

D. 0.5256

Step-by-step explanation:

Use binomial probability:

P = nCr p^r q^(n-r)

where n is the number of trials,

r is the number of successes,

p is the probability of success,

and q is the probability of failure (1-p).

Given n = 10, p = 0.25, and q = 0.75.

If r = 0:

P = ₁₀C₀ (0.25)⁰ (0.75)¹⁰⁻⁰

P = 0.0563

If r = 1:

P = ₁₀C₁ (0.25)¹ (0.75)¹⁰⁻¹

P = 0.1877

If r = 2:

P = ₁₀C₂ (0.25)² (0.75)¹⁰⁻²

P = 0.2816

So the total probability is:

P = 0.0563 + 0.1877 + 02816

P = 0.5256

Suppose y varies directly as x, and y = 21 when x = 3. Find x when y = 42.
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

x = 24

Step-by-step explanation:

y₂ - y₁

42 - 21 = 21

x + 21

3 + 21 = 24

So when y increases by 21, so does x.

x = 24
