The most likely reason for Reida’s nonsignificant finding on her program that was designed to increase reading comprehension scores among sixth grader was because of a small sample size.

In any experimental study that has a goal to make conclusions regarding a population from a sample, the sample size is the feature that is the most important.

Answer:

The correct answer for: Reida has developed a program that is designed to increase the reading comprehension scores of sixth graders. she randomly selects three students to participate in her program. when she compares the mean score of the students who completed her program to that of three students who did not participate in the program, she finds no significant difference between the mean scores. what is most likely the reason for the non significant finding. Is: She doesn't have a true research hypothesis.

Explanation:

First of all to understand the answer we need to understand the context. In our study case, we have two different groups that are selected randomly. Now, this could lead up to a nice population intake, the thing is that it's perfect because they are perfect for measuring her program. She only wants to increase reading scores, so it's focused on reading skills scores. There are many factors that can guide them. First of all, if she knew who had bad scoring or her program test was too easy there could have been manipulation but that's not the case so manipulation is discarded. She required sixth-grade students, so even though her population is too wide she only wants to test her program so it is good if she would have chosen students with low scores, that would be a manipulation scenario. The population is small, yes it is small but they belong to the same group sixth graders chosen randomly, so it's pretty clear her program is not really working. Because she didn't focus on the execution off the program in a better way. She looks for reading skills performance but not a specific one of those. So her model is not well executed because is not well built and to do so she needs to find a real hypothesis and work surrounding it.

  • It can help you reach a compromise when there is conflict
  • Common ground allows for more discussions and agreements
  • It can help you make friends or be social with other people as you will have "common" things to talk about
