4000. You need to round it to the nearest thousand, which would be the 4 at the start if you break it down into its units. Where from right to left, you have, 1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s. Meaning you need to keep the first digit (unless the hundreds are 500+) and everything after should just be the thousands.

Answer:

4000

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2><u>Rounding off</u></h2>

in order to round of to the nearest thousand you have to look at the value after that number. meaning:

4,343

the first four from the left if the thousand , we have to now look at the number next to it. if this number is greater than 5 then the number rounded of would be 5000 , if its less than 5 it would be rounded off to 4000.

in this case it is 3 hence it is less than 5 . so it is rounded down to 4000

<h3>4,343 to the nearest thousand is 4000</h3>

3y-3.5/3y+6=17/25.5. find the value of y. give the scale factor of the polygon
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Hi the answer to your question is

((3y - 3.5) / (3y + 6)) * 25.5 = (17 / 25.5) * 25.5

((3y - 3.5) / (3y + 6)) * 25.5 = 17 (76.5y - 89.25) / (3y + 6) = 17

((76.5y - 89.25) / (3y + 6)) * (3y + 6) = 17 * (3y + 6) 76.5y - 89.25 = 51y + 102 76.5y - 51y = 102 + 89.25

25.5y = 191.25

y = 191.25 / 25.5

<span>y = 7.5</span>

We measure the diameters for a random sample of 25 oak trees in a neighbourhood. Diameters of oak trees in the neighbourhood fol
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

The required confidence inteval = 94.9%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Confidence interval: Mean ± Margin of error

Given: A confidence interval for the true mean diameter of all oak trees in the neighbourhood is calculated to be (36.191, 42.969).

i.e.  Mean + Margin of error = 42.969               (i)

Mean - Margin of error = 36.191                    (ii)

Adding (i) and (ii), we get

2Mean =79.16\\\\\Rightarrow\ Mean= 39.58

Margin of error = 42.969-39.58             [from (i)]

= 3.389

Margin of error = t^* \dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

here n= 25 , \ \sigma=8.25

i.e.

3.389=t^*\dfrac{8.25}{5}\\\\\Rightarrow\ t^* = \dfrac{3.389}{1.65}\\\\\Rightarrow\ t^* =2.0539 \

Using  excel function 1-TDIST.2T(2.054,24)

The required confidence inteval = 94.9%.
