A positive feedback loop causes a self-amplifying cycle where a physiological change leads to even greater change in the same direction. A negative feedback loop is a process in which the body senses a change, and activates mechanisms to reverse that change.

Which is considered the most widely used group of antibiotics due to their bactericidal nature, their resistance to beta-lactama
enyata [817]
The beta-lactam group of antibiotics such as penicillins (i.e. Amoxicillin), cephalosporins (i.e. Cefuroxime), and carbapenems (i.e. Meropenem) is the most widely used group of antibiotics. Beta-lactams are bactericidal. Beta-lactams have no innate resistance to beta-lactamases (enzymes produced by bacteria to break down beta-lactam antibiotics), but they can be paired with a beta-lacamase inhibitor such as Clavulanic acid. Later generations of beta-lactams may offer resistance to beta-lactamases. Beta-lactams offer activity against a broad spectrum of bacterial pathogens, including gram-positive, gram-negative, and (in higher doses, such as Cefazolin) anaerobic coverage.

If a course includes an online textbook/e-book under which link can it be found?
Murrr4er [49]

The correct answer option is C. textbook.

An online textbook or e-book is a digitally readable version of a physical textbook which is meant to be read on some digital device, for instance PC's. laptops, tablets, mobile phones, etc.

E-books, like physical textbooks, include text, images or both but require a digital medium to become readable. However, it is considered a drawback since to use an e-book, the user is dependable on the availability of some digital device.

Which conditions are common to all three of the following: genetic drift, the founder principle, and the bottleneck effect? a. i
Tcecarenko [31]

Explanation:

Common to genetic drift, the founder principle, and the bottleneck effect:

b. in small populations and result in a decrease in genetic diversity and/or an increase in the occurrence of specific genetic traits

c. when a small group of organisms only reproduce with each other to create a larger population of organisms

d. when the majority of a population is killed off and there are only a few remaining organisms left to rebuild the population

Further Explanation:

During the process of cell division, spontaneous changes within the genome can arise, called mutations. These are errors occur when copies of the DNA within the cell are made; mutations may range from small changes called single nucleotide polymorphisms, to large scale deletions, and additions which span multiple genes.

These mutations form variants which become stable within a population, leading to the formation of separate, genetically distinct populations called species.

  • mutations accumulate in a population over time, altering the frequency of alleles or different forms of a gene- this is called genetic drift.
  • In the founder effect, the separation of a group from a larger group can decrease genetic diversity, this can create a genetically distinct population
  • In the bottleneck effect, a population die off or barrier to reproduction increases the genetic drift in the population
