Okay, so on number one I have no idea. I keep getting 20 because 14 - (-3)2 = 14- (-6) which is really 14 + 6=20.

Number 2 is r+15=61

Number 3 I didn't get any of those answers because you have to solve what is in the parenthesis first so3*5= 15+1=16 then you multiply that by two giving you 16*2=32 and 42-32=10

Hi!

1. The answer is D because -3 squared is 9 (it's positive because a negative times a negative equals a positive) and 14 - 9 = 5.

2. Just use common sense for this one. According to the question, 15 is LESS than 61 and r and 15 add up to get 61. Therefore, the answer will be r + 15 = 61.

3. I'm honestly not sure for this one. Doing the calculations I got 10, but there isn't a choice for that. Are you sure you copied the answers correctly?

Hope that helps! Piece of advice: problems like this are easy when you go through it slowly and use common sense. Maybe try them on your own next time? :)

Which of these strategies would eliminate a variable in the system of equations ?
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

I believe the answer is B because if we multiply the top equation by 6, we get 48x + 30y = -42, and if we multiply the bottom equation by -5, we get

35x - 30y = 20. So now, if we add it all together, then the positive 30y and negative 30y cancel out aka it equals 0, and thus the variable y is gone, satisfying the requirement that the problem asks for ("Which of these strategies would eliminate a variable...").

I hope this helped, and if it's correct, I'd appreciate if you marked my answer as Brainliest :)

(It would be good to note that i just learned how to simplify/solve algebraic expretions)

P=21+2w

P/21=2w

then we flip it

2w=p/21 which could also be

w=2(p/21) i think

How many 3 3/4 inch wires can be cut from a spool if wire that is 100 inches how much will be left over
Akimi4 [234]

How many 3\frac{3}{4} wires can be cut from a spool of wire that is 100 inches long?

How many inches will be left over?

Number of pieces of wires = length of spool of wire ÷ length of each piece of wire.

Number of pieces = 100 ÷ 3\frac{3}{4} = 100 ÷ \frac{15}{4}

That gives \frac{100 * 4}{15}

Simplifying gives \frac{400}{15} = \frac{80}{3}

This is equivalent to 26\frac{2}{3} pieces

So 26 pieces of wires can be cut from a spool and \frac{2}{3} of a piece will be left over.
