It is easy after using formula of the complex numbers
z1= 5(cos25Deg + i sin25Deg)
z2= 2(cos80Deg + isin80Deg)
so z1/z2 =5/2cis(25Deg-80Deg)=5/2cis(-55Deg)
but we know that sin(-55Deg)= - sin(55Deg), and cos(-55Deg)=cos(55Deg),
finally the answer is Z=5/2(cos55Deg-i sin55Deg) (Z=z1/z2)

WRITE THE EQUATION OF THE PARABOLA with a directrix of y=1 and a focus of (0,-1).
stepan [7]

Answer:

-4y = x², or y = - x²/4, or y = -(1/4)x²

Step-by-step explanation:

Because the focus is beneath the directrix, this vertical parabola opens down. The general formula is 4py = x².

Because the distance between focus and directrix is 2 units, p = -1 here. The negative sign shows that the parabola opens down.

4py = x² becomes 4(-1)y = x², or -4y = x², or y = - x²/4

What is the distance from the spotlight to be base of the tree, rounded to the nearest meter?
Luda [366]
Answer:
14

Explanation:
The given triangle is a right-angled triangle. This means that special trig functions can be applied.
These functions are as follows:
sin θ = opposite / hypotenuse
cos θ = adjacent / hypotenuse
tan θ = opposite / adjacent

Now, we have:
θ = 40°
opposite = 12 m
adjacent is the distance we want to find

Substitute with the givens in the tan formula to get the distance as follows:
tan (40) = 12 / distance
distance = 12 / tan (40)
distance = 14.3 which is approximately 14 m

Hope this helps :)
