Answer:

0.175  or 17.5%

Explanation:

The calculation of the cost of common equity is shown below:-

WACC = Weight of Equity × Cost of Equity + Weight of Debt × ( 1- Tax rate) × Cost of Debt

0.13 = (0.55 × Cost of equity) + ((0.45 × (1 - 0.25) × 0.10)

0.13 = (0.55 × Cost of equity) + 0.045 × 0.75

(0.55 × Cost of equity) = 0.13 - 0.03375

(0.55 × Cost of equity) = 0.09625

Cost of equity = 0.09625 ÷ 0.55

= 0.175

Therefore for computing the cost of equity we simply applied the above formula.

The dollar interest received divided by the market price of the bond is called the:________.
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

C. Current yield

Explanation:

Investors oftentimes invest in government bonds or private investing and are paid interest either on annual basis, semi annually or quarterly basis. A bond is a debt instrument which is given in form of loan by investors to borrowers and pays interest to them in return. Usually, when a bond is to be issued, an issuing entity will be responsible for that, while also determining the duration of the bond, the interest rate applicable and the face value. The aforementioned remains the same irrespective of the changes in bond market.

The current yield of a bond measures how profitable a bond is in comparison to other bonds. This means that for each year investment, investors are able to know which of the bonds that bring in the greatest return. The current yield of a bond is calculated by ; annual coupon payment divided by current market value of the bond.

Determine the single plantwide factory overhead rate, using each of the following allocation bases: (a) direct labor hours and (
Fofino [41]

Answer and Explanation:

1.

The direct labor overhead rate using the direct labor hours is shown below:-

Direct labor overhead rate = Total overheads ÷ Direct labor hours

= $220,800 ÷ 1,725

= $128

b. The machine hour overhead rate using the machine hours is

= Total overhead ÷ Machine hours

= $220,800 ÷ 4,600

= $48

2.

The factory overhead costs using direct labor hour is

Particulars             Automobile       Valve        Wheels        Total

                                bumpers           covers

Direct labor

hours                        730                 480                515

Overhead rate         $128               $128              $128

Total                        $ 93,440        $61,440        $65,920     $220,800

For determining the total overhead we simply multiply the direct labor hours with overhead rate.

The factory overhead costs using machine hour is

Particulars             Automobile       Valve        Wheels        Total

                                bumpers           covers

Machine hours          1,970               1,270         1,360

Overhead rate            $48                  $48              $48

Total overhead        $94,560         $60,960    $65,280      $220,800

For determining the total overhead we simply multiply the machine hours with overhead rate.
