Answer:

a. emphasized organic shapes and materials

Explanation:

Especially in the early decades of the twentieth century, Modern Architecture marked itself as a period of rejection of traditional styles.

At that time, changes occurred in many aspects that shaped much of what is built to date in cities around the world.

It was the German Mies van der Rohe (1886 - 1969) who summarized this spirit well, in a sentence which is itself an example of its meaning: "less is more".

This modern style privileges everything that is simple, but never what is simple. This characteristic manifests itself mainly in the forms - which are basic - and in the raw material used, such as apparent concrete, steel and glass (the favorite materials of Modern Architecture).

It is important to emphasize that the world was living a favorable period for all these transformations in the way of making architecture, because it had gone through the Industrial Revolution that changed the way of producing and revolutionized the quality of building materials through new technologies.

Around all the peculiarities that mark this aspect, is also the valorization of the social functions of the constructions.

To varying degrees, all great modern architects are concerned with how their creations will be used in practice by people.
