What is the state of Michigan doing to fix the problem of purple loosestrifes?
saw5 [17]

The state of Michigan has faced a big problem with an invasive species of plant in its wetlands. The plant is seemingly harmless and beautiful, and while there's no argument about the beauty of it, it is actually very destructive toward the local flora and because of it the fauna as well. In order to solve the problem with the purple loosestrifes, the state of Michigan has asked for help from the professionals in the universities to find out a solution. The scientists managed to figure out a way in which they can lower significantly the density of this invasive species and mostly restore the native flora, and the salvation was in certain species of insects. Some insects are natural predators of this plant, thus they destroy it, so several species of insects have been released at the places where this plant had spread out. The effects have been excellent, as the insects did their job properly, managing to reduce significantly the amount of purple loosestifes, enabling the native flora to get its territory back.

Metallic bonds are responsible for many properties of metals, such as conductivity. Why is this possible? (1 point)
Maksim231197 [3]

The correct answer is;  Metals have low electronegativity, so they are conductive because they pass charges easily.

Metals are found towards the left hand side in the periodic table. They are known for their low electronegativity. Metals are electropositive. This means that they loose charges(electrons) easily.

A metallic bond is comprised of positively charged metallic ions and a sea of electrons. These electrons can move freely.

This sea of electrons are the charges that are responsible for the properties of metals such as high conductivity.
