During the Civil war, the Women’ Suffrage movement was masked due to the war effort and abolition of slavery of Africans. Many conventions and lectures were held by the women activists but were not acknowledged.

After the war, women leaders raised their voice out of rage to claim the Enfranchisement right. The leaders gave final consent for the liberation of slaves but women were given little importance. This made them demonstrate their protest.

After years of Strife and struggle, under the president Woodrow Wilson, the constitution was amended and the final approval was given to women to cast their vote henceforth.
