No predators usually target young and or healthy prey. Though prey that old and sick are easier to get. Those in a herd who are weak will fall behind which will make it easy for their predators to catch. Their hunters don't get the same 'nutrients' because of their ill body won't provide the same amount they would if healthy.

No, They find the alone one because they are easier to catch when away from the tribe. They are easier to kill when they are old and sick, or weak.

What is the best explanation for the faster times of the group fed a pre-race meal of bread with bananas and honey
IgorC [24]

Answer:

Bread, bananas and honey have carbohydrates.

Explanation:

The group fed a pre-race meal of bread with bananas and honey because bread, bananas and honey have high amount of carbohydrates which give quick energy to the athlete. This carbohydrate is a macromolecule which is quickly converted into micromolecule i. e. glucose that is absorbed by the cell and the mitochondria of the cell produces energy in the form of ATP that is used by the athlete in running.

Describe two ways of measuring biodiversity. Explain the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem stability. As part of y
Daniel [21]

Answer:

- Two predictors to measure biodiversity: Species Richness and Simpson's Index

- Biodiversity increases ecosystem stability

- It has been shown that natural ecosystems are more stable than monocultures, while isolated human populations are found in highly diverse ecosystems

Explanation:

Two major predictors to measure biodiversity are: 1-species richness and the 2-Simpson's index. The species richness is a count for the total number of the species in a given habitat and/or ecosystem; while Simpson's index is a similarity index that indicates the likelihood that two different individuals selected at random from a sample will belong to the same species, thereby also estimating the biodiversity of a habit and/or ecosystem. Simpson's index takes into consideration the number of species and the abundance of each species. Ecosystems with high diversity tend to be more stable and resilient than ecosystems with low diversity. Biodiversity increases ecosystem stability due to the species asynchrony, which is a strong driver capable of stabilizing multiple processes/functions in the ecosystems over time (e.g., the productivity of the ecosystems over time). In this regard, it has been shown that forests that are highly diverse in the number of species are more productive and stable under stress than monocultures (i.e., agricultural crops), while isolated human populations live in sustainable ecosystems, it is for that reasons that isolated tribes are only found in highly diverse ecosystems.

Answer:

Evolution refers to the change in the structure of an organism with the passage of million of years.

Explanation:

Evolution is the change in the structure of an organism with the passage of million of years. Evolution occurs due to two reasons, first from genetically while the other from adaptation to the environmental conditions. In genetically, the change in structure of animal comes from their parents whereas changes occurs due to adaptation of an organism in order to survive in the harsh climatic condition of the environment.

In negative feedback the stimulus is (enhanced/reduced). An example of a negative feedback would be if a person had an elevated
aniked [119]

Answer:

A negative feedback initiated by the external simuli or the products of a reaction aims to reduce the products/ output of the reaction. Hence In negative feedback the stimulus is reduced. An example of a negative feedback would be if a person had an elevated body temperature, the homeostatic response would be to lower the body temperature.
