1. ANSWER: C. Test approved by the president of the United States.

As the name itself implies, the Presidential Fitness Test is a physical exam approved by the president of the United States himself. The president has approved five basic tests to ensure the well-being of the students. The fitness test includes curl-ups (full or partial), endurance run (or walk), shuttle run, pull-ups, and V-sit.

2. ANSWER: G. The ability of muscles to perform work over time.

Muscular endurance, as the name itself implies (again), is a set of exercises that aim to strengthen or improve the endurance of the muscles. Endurance is one's power to tolerate or bear increasingly difficult situations without giving away. Thus, these kinds of exercises help improve the muscles to perform work over time.

3. ANSWER: H. The capacity of muscles to generate amounts of force in a short period.

Strength is the ability to perform and exert huge amounts of effort. Thus, muscular strength would refer to the muscle's ability to generate a lot of force in a short period of time, exactly as option H describes it. Exercises that would improve muscular strength include cycling, weight lifting, push-ups, and other similar activities.

4. ANSWER: J. The ability of the heart and lungs to be active over a long period of time.

Like muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance refers to the ability of our body to tolerate strong physical conditions; however this time certain focus is given to the cardiovascular component of our body.

Cardio in the term "cardiovascular" refers to the respiratory system thus this would be about improving the lungs. Vascular, on the other hand, refers to that of the vessels which is connected to the heart.

5. ANSWER: B. The elasticity of muscle groups.

Flexibility, as you may already know, is our body's ability to be stretched. Flexibility is also defined as being able to be bent easily without breaking. Thus, among all the options, choice B would closely resemble this definition, as elasticity is also related to the stretchiness of components and is a close synonym for flexibility.

6. ANSWER: I. The body's ability to do several different tasks at one time.

Coordination, as often defined in team activities, is the ability of each member to perform in perfect sync with each other. Similar to the components in our body, coordination is also all about our body's capability to do several different things at once. It is with coordination can our body multi-task while being in harmony.

7. ANSWER: D. Measures muscular endurance.

Curl-ups is an ideal exercise to measure muscular endurance. In curl ups, you lie down flat on your back and you repeatedly raise your upper body by bending your muscles in the abdomen. This exercise will be tedious for the muscles; thus, being able to withstand this exercise for a long time will prove one's muscular endurance.

8. ANSWER: E. Measures muscular strength.

Push-ups, on the other hand, is designed to test one's muscular strength. In push-ups, the only thing supporting your body is your arm and feet. You then need to consecutively lower and raise your entire body using only the arms. Doing this makes the muscles exert huge amounts of force in a short time, thus measuring the muscles' strength.

9. ANSWER: A. Test used to measure flexibility.

The sit and reach test, as the name implies, is an exercise where you sit with your legs straight and you aim to reach the farthest area in front of you using your arms. This exercise is done to measure your flexibility, since you need to bend over as much as you can in order to reach an area farther in front of you.

10. ANSWER: F. Measures coordination.

Shuttle run is an excellent training for sports because it develops a lot of aspects in one's body. This exercise involves intense running via three marks, wherein one needs to touch the first mark every time s/he passes it. Because running and presence of mind is involved to determine when to touch the mark, this effectively measures our coordination.
