For an example, we burn plastics just because we have no where to store or keep them, while mining, it pollutes the air surrounding it by the toxic smells it releases. We should not be doing all of this to our own environment, rather we should do the opposite, we should refuse the use of plastics and recycle them whenever possible. This is how we ourselves increase pollution just because of lack of awareness.
