Hey there! I'm happy to help!

All of the sides of a square are the same. Therefore, to find the area, you multiply the side by itself. Multiplying a number by itself is conveniently called squaring.

Doing this backwards is called finding the square root. If you have an area of 64, you square root it, showing you that the sides are 8.

This means the side length of our square rug is √99.

A rational number is one that can be written as a fraction of two integers. If you put √99 into your calculator, you get 9.949874371....

This is not a rational number because it goes on forever in no particular order, so we cannot write it as a fraction of two integers. The closest number we could use to have a rational square root would be 100, as its square root is 10.

Have a wonderful day! :D

Answer: D. SSS

Step-by-step explanation:

The solution would be SSS because the image shows that AB is congruent to DE, BC is congruent to EF, and AC is congruent to DF. Because the image shows that all three sides are congruent to their corresponding side on the other triangle, with no mention of angles, the triangles are congreunt through the SSS theorem.

Paul has 12 coins in his pocket, consisting entirely of dimes and quarters. If he has a total of 195 cents in coins, how many co
anyanavicka [17]

Let x be the number of dimes

and y be the number of quarters

Total number of coins = 12

So number of dimes + number of quarters = total number of coins

x + y = 12 ---------> equation 1

We know, 1 Quarter = 25 cents, 1 Dime = 10 cents, total cents = 196

y quarters = 25y cents , x dimes = 10x cents

x dimes + y quarters = 195 cents

10x + 25y = 195 -----------> equation 2

Now solve both equations

x + y =12, we solve for y by subtracting x on both sides

y = 12-x

Now substitute y in second equation

10x + 25(12-x) = 195

10x + 300 -25x = 195 (combine like terms)

-15x + 300 = 195 (subtract 300 on both sides)

-15x = -105 ( divide by -15)

x=7

y= 12-x

y=12-7 = 5

The number of dimes = 7

Number of quarters = 5
