Best Answer:  I would first study a lot of them to see the patterns...refer to any eighties pop culture for that. Then, set your own experiments in motion to see what works and doesn't work. Compare current day fads and see if you can fill in the gap between what has occurred in the past and what happens now. Draw the parallel points...meaning ones that remain constant, and prove or disprove the others.
