• Pancreas’ failure to produce insulin hormone (type I)

• Insulin resistance-cells don’t respond to insulin (type II).

Some of the symptoms include:

• frequent urination because the kidneys reach a threshold of reabsorption, so the glucose is excreted. That is why ADH is increased  (trying to increase reabsorption)

•  increased thirst is caused by dehidratation due to increased urination.
