First, lets know what a coefficient and a constant is. A coefficient is the number that the variable is being multiplied. Here are some examples:

• 6x+3, the coefficient is 6

• 7x+3, the coefficient is 7.

• 1234x+561, the coefficient is 1234.

Seems simple enough! The only thing though, is when you get into the higher levels of algebra, you want to call it the coefficient of x.

So the constant is a number that will not change value regardless of the value of x. For example:

• 141x+5, the constant is 5

• x+2, the constant is 2

• 8x+9, the constant is 9.

Wow, easiness! All we have to do is make an expression that fulfils these requirements. So, how about this:

7x+4

The coefficient is 7, and the constant is 4. Done!

Hope this helped!

An algebraic expression is a mathematical phrase that can contain ordinary numbers, variables and operators.
Coefficient is a number multiplied by a variable in a term.
Constant term has terms with no variable factors.
So your answer is:7x+4

If the bottom row as a result of sythetic division is 1 3 0 4 0, then the quotient is which of the following? Select one:
zmey [24]

The quotient of the synthetic division is x^3 + 3x^2 + 4

How to determine the quotient?

The bottom row of synthetic division given as:

1 3 0 4 0

The last digit represents the remainder, while the other represents the quotient.

So, we have:

Quotient = 1 3 0 4

Introduce the variables

Quotient = 1x^3 + 3x^2 + 0x + 4

Evaluate

Quotient = x^3 + 3x^2 + 4

Hence, the quotient of the synthetic division is x^3 + 3x^2 + 4
