In occupational term, Reality shock refers to a situation when new workers experience a massive difference between the 'expectation' of what their job would be, and the 'actual condition' of their job.
From the example above,
Angela is most likely only been imagining about the 'good part' of being a teacher during her preparation years (communicating with the students, helping the students reach their full potential, socializing with parents and other teacher , etc).
But Angela never realize that the actual job of being a teacher actually involve a long and tedious repetitive duties (such as grading papers and preparing lessons).
