To solve the problem we will use this equation where,

d will be distance.
x is the speed of the plane without tailwind.
y is the speed of the wind affecting the plane.
Going to Philadelphia the speed of the plane affected by wind will be x-y=220 miles/hr
Coming back with a tailwind, the speed of the plane will be x+y= 280 miles/hr.
since time = distance / speed, t1 =d/220 and t2 = d/280
and since the total time traveled is 6.5hrs
d/220 + d/ 280 = 6.5hrs
d = 800.8 miles x 2 (back and forth trip) the answer is 1601.6 miles

GIVING BRAINLY JUST ANSWER CORRECTLY !!
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

b. never

Explanation:

A fraction is always in the form p/q, where q is not 0; or can be converted in that form (in case of mixed fraction).

A number is said to be irrational, if it cannot be expressed in the form p/q, where q is not 0.

A quality-conscious disk manufacturer wishes to know the fraction of disks his company makes which are defective. Step 2 of 2: S
Anna35 [415]

Answer:

The 98% confidence interval for the population proportion of disks which are defective is (0.082, 0.118).

Step-by-step explanation:

In a sample with a number n of people surveyed with a probability of a success of \pi, and a confidence level of 1-\alpha, we have the following confidence interval of proportions.

\pi \pm z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In which

z is the zscore that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{\alpha}{2}.

Suppose a sample of 1536 floppy disks is drawn. Of these disks, 1383 were not defective.

1536 - 1383 = 153

This means that n = 1536, \pi = \frac{153}{1536} = 0.1

98% confidence level

So \alpha = 0.02, z is the value of Z that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{0.02}{2} = 0.99, so Z = 2.327.

The lower limit of this interval is:

\pi - z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}} = 0.1 - 2.327\sqrt{\frac{0.1*0.9}{1536}} = 0.082

The upper limit of this interval is:

\pi + z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}} = 0.1 + 2.327\sqrt{\frac{0.1*0.9}{1536}} = 0.118

The 98% confidence interval for the population proportion of disks which are defective is (0.082, 0.118).

whole milk is 4% butterfat how much skim milk with 0% butterfat should be added to 32 ounces of whole milk to obtain a mixture t
vivado [14]

Answer:

whole milk 4 ---------------- 32 ounces

skim milk 0 ---------------- x ounces

Mixture 2.5 ---------------- 32 + x ounces

4*32+0x =2.5(32 +x)

128+0x= 80+2.5 x

0 x + -2.5 x = 80 - -128

-2.5 x = -48

/ -2.5

x = 19.2

19.2 ounces of 0 % fat skim milk
