We have a lot to celebrate. We have a lot to be thankful for, but our hearts are still very heavy today. Yesterday we lost a goo

d man. We lost New York City Police Officer Dennis Guerra. And I want you to understand what this means in human terms – a married father of four, just 38 years old, a hero, a man who walked into danger to try and save others, and saw it as his duty and his responsibility. We lost someone who exemplified all that's good about New York City, and my heart goes out to his family.
Use a dictionary or context clues to determine the best definition for exemplified.

served as an example
changed qualities
umlauted reduction
approached

I believe the correct answer is: served as an example.

The word exemplified is often explained as “to be a typical example of” or “to illustrate or clarify by giving an example”, so the best option in this case to determine the meaning of exemplified is “serve as an example”. This is also seen from the context, as the New York City Police Offices Dannis Guerra is all that’s good about New York City.

The underlined words in this excerpt are
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

I think I know what you are trying to say. Here is the information that you may be trying to put out there:

Read the excerpt from Ronald Reagan's Address at Moscow State University.

Freedom, it has been said, makes people selfish and materialistic, but Americans are one of the most religious peoples on Earth. Because they know that liberty, just as life itself, is not earned but a gift from God, they seek to share that gift with the world. "Reason and experience," said George Washington in his farewell address, "both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle. And it is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government."

Select 3 options.

A.an example of procatalepsis.

C.used by Reagan to acknowledge an opposing view.

E.followed by a counterargument proving Reagan's point.

Explanation:

While addressing at Moscow State University, Ronald Reagan made use of procatalepsis where he is objecting to a commonly held belief. ‘Freedom, it has been said, makes people selfish and materialistic, but Americans are one of the most religious peoples on Earth’ here, ‘but’ indicates that the sentence is an example of procatalepsis.

Apart from this, Ronald is also acknowledging an opposing view by stating why Americans are the most religious people. Ronald also included George Washington’s counterargument for proving his point.

I can't tell you which one is the answer since I don't have the text, but read through the passage, and think about how the announcer cutting into the "regular programing" makes you feel. Does it add suspense, annoyance, frustration or confusion?

ololo11 [35]

Answer:

rapid eating

Explanation:

The word devour means consuming and absorbing something rapidly, usually without leaving no trace. It can be used for demolishing and destroying, for a force wiping something out.

Here it is used with its second meaning which is rapid eating. Devouring something also means eating it hungrily or quickly, feeding wholeheartedly on it. In this passage, it is meant that someone was so hungry that they ate every single piece of food that could be found in the fridge.
