When multiplying terms with exponents, just add the exponents together.

You have x^7 and x^4, so 7 +4 = 11

Y^2 and Y^5 = 2+5 = 7

so it would be -20x^11 y^7

The answer is A.) a=11, b=7

A lighthouse is 90 feet above sea level. The angle of depression from the top of the lighthouse to the center of the rock is 35
Marysya12 [62]
Notice the picture below

so.... the angle of depression, is above in dashed lines.... however, the angle of depression, is identical to the angle of elevation from the water, since, both angles are "alternate interior" angles

now, using the 45-45-90 rule, then we know the swimmer is 90 feet from the lighthouse, then just use the tangent ratio to get "x"

As one of her chores staci must vacuum 1/2 of the house if she already has vacuumed 1/3 of her share tonight what part of the ho
bonufazy [111]
Given that S<span>taci must vacuum 1/2 of the house.

If she already has vacuumed 1/3 of her share tonight the part of the house she has vacumed is given by

\frac{1}{3} \ of \ \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{1}{2} = \frac{1}{6}

Therefore, she has vacuumed 1/6 of the house.

What is the equation of the circle with center (5,-4) and containing the points (5,-2)
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

The equation of a circle is (x-5)^2+(y+4)^2=4 .

Step-by-step explanation:

-The equation of a circle is:

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2 (where center is (h,k), the point (x_{1},y_{1}) and the radius known as r).

-Use the center (5,-4) and the point (5,-2) for the equation:

(5-5)^2+(-2+4)^2=r^2

-Solve the equation:

(5-5)^2+(-2+4)^2=r^2

0 + (-2)^2=r^2

4 = r^2

\sqrt{4} = \sqrt{r^2}

2 = r

-After you found the radius, use the center (5, -4)  and radius 2 to get the equation of a circle:

(x-5)^2+(y+4)^2=2^2

-Then, after you have the equation, the radius needs to simplified by the exponent:

(x-5)^2+(y+4)^2=4
