Identify the persuasive and rhetorical techniques in this passage: "Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some diff

icult days ahead. But it doesn't matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land." -"I Have Been to the Mountaintop"

Answer:

Rhetorical device: Allusion.

Persuasive device: Pathos, Ethos.

Explanation:

As per the question, 'allusion' is the rhetorical device that has been employed in this passage while 'pathos and ethos' are the persuasive devices used by the author in the given passage.

The author employs 'allusion' as the rhetorical device to enhance the contextual depth of the passage when the king in the passage indirectly refers to Moses and alludes a historical significance by describing the fact that 'however, the time has been passed but Moses was unable to set in the 'promised land' but rather looking from the mountaintop only.

The persuasive device 'pathos'(appeal) to emotion is reflected through the mixed imagery of joy and solicitude presented by the author to convince the audience emotionally while 'ethos'(appeal to ethics) is displayed through the author's comparison which implies that 'with the king or without him, the African Americans would ultimately attain their goal of gaining legal equality' fro themselves. This comparison establishes the author's character and persuades the audience ethically.

If your company uses accrual basis accounting, what do you need to pay special attention to? A. Money the company owes B. Money
patriot [66]

Answer: C.) Cash flow

Explanation: Cashflow refers to the flow or movement of cash or cash related items in and out of a business as captured by a financial statement. Hence, cashflow captures both inflows and outflows. This is of relative importance in accrual method of accounting whereby an organization's revenue and expenses are captured or recorded once the transaction is recognized and not until payment is made as done in cash basis of accounting. Hence, the focus when an organization utilizes accrual method should not be based only on revenue earned or funds owed by the company or that which the company is being owed. Focus should be on the both the company's inflow and outflow.

45 pointsss answer both plzzz Why is privacy important? Why is lack of privacy bad?
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

Privacy is important to everyone. It can keep people safe and protected, which is pretty good. It can keep credit card information and passwords safe when it comes to online privacy. In real life privacy is also just as important, as everyone deserves privacy since it is something personal. If there is a lack of privacy, bad things are almost guaranteed to happen. Thinking back to online privacy and credit card information and passwords, if such info is leaked and privacy is invaded, strangers (most likely hackers) can buy things with your credit card and take over all that you have with the use of passwords. Privacy, whether it be real life, online, or anything else, is extremely important, no matter who it is about or what it is about.
