Arturo is building a flower bed in the shape of a right triangle. the hypotenuse of the right triangle is 13 feet. one of the le

gs needs to be 7 feet longer than the other leg.
which equation can be used to find x, the length of the shorter leg?

x(x 7) = 13
x(x 7) = 169
x2 (x 7)2 = 13
x2 (x 7)2 = 169

The answer is x(x+7)=169 because the formula for a right triangle is a^2+b^2=c^2. With that said 13 squared as the hypotenuse is 169. since ether is one side that has to be 7 feet longer than the other side that means you add 7 to the unknown length, x. Then you still have to add x into the equation considering it is still aprat of the problem. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Answer:

x^2+(x+7)^2=169

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Let length of shorter leg  of right triangle=x ft

Length of other leg=x+7 ft

Hypotenuse of right triangle =13 ft

We have to find the equation which can be used to find x, the length of shorter leg.

By pythagorous theorem

(Hypotenuse)^2=(Base)^2+(Perpendicular\;side)^2

Substitute the values then, we get

(13)^2=x^2+(x+7)^2

x^2+(x+7)^2=169

This is required equation which can used to find x.

How to solve this?<br>\int \frac { 4 - 3 x ^ { 2 } } { ( 3 x ^ { 2 } + 4 ) ^ { 2 } } d x

\Large \mathbb{SOLUTION:}

\begin{array}{l} \displaystyle \int \dfrac{4 - 3x^2}{(3x^2 + 4)^2} dx \\ \\ = \displaystyle \int \dfrac{4 - 3x^2}{x^2\left(3x + \dfrac{4}{x}\right)^2} dx \\ \\ = \displaystyle \int \dfrac{\dfrac{4}{x^2} - 3}{\left(3x + \dfrac{4}{x}\right)^2} dx \\ \\ \text{Let }u = 3x + \dfrac{4}{x} \implies du = \left(3 - \dfrac{4}{x^2}\right)\ dx \\ \\ \text{So the integral becomes}  \\ \\ = \displaystyle -\int \dfrac{du}{u^2} \\ \\ = -\dfrac{u^{-2 + 1}}{-2 + 1} + C \\ \\ = \dfrac{1}{u} + C \\ \\ = \dfrac{1}{3x + \dfrac{4}{x}} + C \\ \\ = \boxed{\dfrac{x}{3x^2 + 4} + C}\end{array}

Which system of equations is shown by the graph
natta225 [31]

Answer:

The third or bottom left option.

Step-by-step explanation:

Pay attention to the slopes. If it is negative that the graph points to the top left or bottom right and the opposite for a positive slope(slope is the coefficient of the x value meaning if the slope is a very small negative number or a large positive number than the steepness changes) This can be solved purely through the process of elimination which is how I did it.

HELP ASAP PLEASE (25 POINTS) Solve and reduce if possible. 5/12 − 7/8 = ?
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

-11/24

Step-by-step explanation:

5/12 - 7/8

We need to get a common denominator of 24

5/12 *2/2  - 7/8 *3/3

10/24 - 21/24

-11/24

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM!!
madam [21]
To solve this question, we should know the Triangle Inequality Theorem.

The triangle inequality theorem says something like: The sum of any two sides of a triangle must be greater than than the length of the third side

Making that into a formula, considering the side lengths are a, b, and c.
a + b > c
a + c > b
b+ c > a

So:
Lets test answer choice A.

The sides will then be: 34, 12, and 21

34 + 12 > 21 -> 46 > 12 True
12 + 21 > 34 -> 33 > 34 False

A is not the correct answer choice.

Lets try answer choice B.

The sides for this would be: 34, 12, and 30

34 + 12 > 30 -> 46 > 30 True
12 + 30 > 34 -> 42 > 34 True
30 + 12 > 34 -> 42 > 34 True

So B is correct.

Lets try C to make sure.

The side lengths would be: 34, 12, and 46

34 + 12 > 46 -> 46 > 46 False

So C is wrong.

Lets just make sure D is also wrong, and then we will know for sure if B is the answer :)

Side lengths of answer choice D: 34, 12, and 50

34 + 12 > 50 -> 46 > 50 False

So B is indeed our answer. :)

Another way to solve it is to:

We are given side lengths of 34 and 12.

That means the other side has to be greater than the different of 34 and 12 and less than the sum of 34 and 12.

Lets say that c is the third side, then:

34 -12 < c < 34 + 12
22 < c < 46

And by looking at this range, and the answer choices we know that B) 30 is the answer because the others are at the border and since it isn't greater than or equal to/less than or equal to, we can not include it.Or either the answer choices are out of the range.

So the final answer is \boxed{\bf{B)~30~cm}}
