The total cost, C, for running an advertisement in a local newspaper, The Free Press, is made up of an initial cost of $12 plus

a charge of $5 per day. A rival newspaper, The Banner, is currently running a special on advertisements at $8 per day with no initial cost.

There is no clear question here, however, the plan for the local newspaper, if the plan is long-term, is more comfortable for the consumers, but less comfortable if it is short-term.

Using a sample size of two days.

- For the local newspaper, we have

($5 × 2) + ($12) = $22

- For the rivals, we have

$8 × 2 = $16

Using a sample size of one hundred days.

- For the local newspaper, we have

($5 × 100) + ($12) = $512

- For the rivals, we have

$8 × 100 = $800

The parabola with equation $y=ax^2+bx+c$ is graphed below:
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

m-n=2

Step-by-step explanation:

Instead of using the standard form, we can use the vertex form of a quadratic equation:

f(x)=a(x-h)^2+k

Where a is the leading coefficient, and (h, k) is our vertex.

Our vertex point is at (2, -4). So, let’s substitute 2 for h and -4 for k:

f(x)=a(x-2)^2-4

Now, we need to determine a.

We know that it passes through the point (4, 12). So, when x is 4, y must be 12. In other words:

12=a((4)-2)^2-4

Solve for a. Subtract within the parentheses:

12=a(2)^2-4

Add 4 to both sides:

16=a(2)^2

Square:

16=4a

Solve:

a=4

Thererfore, the value of a is 4.

So, our function is:

f(x)=4(x-2)^2-4

Now, let’s find our roots. Set the equation to 0 and solve for x:

0=4(x-2)^2-4

4=4(x-2)^2\\1=(x-2)^2\\x-2=\pm1 \\ x=2\pm1 \\ x=3\text{ or } 1

So, our roots are 1 and 3.

The greater root is 3 and the lesser root is 1.

Therefore, m-n, where m>n, is 3-1 or 2.

Our final answer is 2.

The teams ratio of games won to games played was 5 to 6. If the team played 36 games how many games did The team fail to win
alexdok [17]

Answer:

well this is simple 5x6= 30 and 6x6= 36 so its 30/6

Step-by-step explanation:

because we need to get 6 to 36 and we know that 6x6 then you also have to multiply 5x6 so then thats 30

HELP PLEASEEEEEEEEEeeeee
maks197457 [2]
Might have to experiment a bit to choose the right answer.

In A, the first term is 456 and the common difference is 10.  Each time we have a new term, the next one is the same except that 10 is added.

Suppose n were 1000.  Then we'd have 456 + (1000)(10) = 10456

In B, the first term is 5 and the common ratio is 3.  From 5 we get 15 by mult. 5 by 3.  Similarly, from 135 we get 405 by mult. 135 by 3.  This is a geom. series with first term 5 and common ratio 3.   a_n = a_0*(3)^(n-1).
So if n were to reach 1000, the 1000th term would be 5*3^999, which is a very large number, certainly more than the 10456 you'd reach in A, above.

Can you now examine C and D in the same manner, and then choose the greatest final value?  Safe to continue using n = 1000.
