A recession is a time in an economy whereby trade and industrial activities is low.Economists believe that towards the end of this period is the best to start a business due to the following reasons: at this time things are more affordable as there is low circulation of money in the economy. Low-interest rates on loans thus credit is cheaper. Additionally, there will be less competition as the money is in the hands of few people during this time. Finally, many people want to save money and thus clients will be on the lookout for more affordable alternatives.

Answer: $4.24

Explanation:

According to the Put-Call Parity, the value would be expressed by;

Put Price = Call price - Stock price + Exercise price *e^-(risk free rate *T)

T is 90 days out of 365 so = 90/365

= 2.65 - 26 + 28 * 2.71 ^ (-0.06 * 90/365)

If you put up $43,000 today in exchange for a 6.25 percent, 15-year annuity, what will the annual cash flow be?
AysviL [449]

Answer:

The annual cash flow will be $4,500.

Explanation:

Use following formula to calculate Annual Cash flow from Annuity.

Present value of annuity = annual cash flow ( 1 - ( 1 / ( 1 + rate of interest )^time period ) ) / rate of interest

PVA = C ( 1 - ( 1 / ( 1 + r )^t ) ) / r

$43,000 = C ( 1 - ( 1 / ( 1 + 0.0625)^15 ) ) / 0.0625

$43,000 = C x 9.5555

C = $43,000 / 9.5555

C = $4,500

So, the annual cash flow will be $4,500.

4th year, Dec. 31:

Debit Depreciation Expense $31,250

Credit Accumulated Depreciation $31,250

b. Journal Entries (Double-declining-balance method)

1st year, Dec. 31

Debit Depreciation Expense $67,500

Credit Accumulated Depreciation $67,500

2nd year, Dec. 31

Debit Depreciation Expense $33,750

Credit Accumulated Depreciation $33,750

3rd year, Dec. 31

Debit Depreciation Expense $16,875

Credit Accumulated Depreciation $16,875

4th year, Dec. 31

Debit Depreciation Expense $6,875

Credit Accumulated Depreciation $6,875

Explanation:

a) Data and Calculations:

Fixed assets bought on January 1 = $135,000

Estimated service life = 4 years

Estimated residual value = $10,000

Depreciable amount = $125,000 ($135,000 - $10,000)

Annual Straight-line Depreciation = $31,250 ($125,000/4)

b. Double-declining balance method:

Depreciation rate = 100%/4 * 2 = 50%

Year 1 Depreciation = $67,500 ($135,000 * 50%)

Year 2 Depreciation = $33,750 ($67,500 * 50%)

Year 3 Depreciation = $16,875 ($33,750 * 50%)

Year 4 Depreciation = $6,875 ($16,875 - $10,000)

a) The IRR is 10%

b) The FW if MARR = 12% is -$27070.25.

c) The ERR when externeal reinvestment rate per period is 12%. is 10.74%.

Explanation:

a)

PW(i%) = -23000 - 1200(P/A, i%, 4) - 8000(P/F, i%, 4) + 5500(P/A, i%, 11)(P/F, i%, 4) + 33000(P/F, i%, 15)

            = 0

Solve for i%

IRR = 10%

Therefore, The IRR is 10%

b)

FW (12%) = -23000(F/P, 12%, 15) - 1200(F/A, 12%, 4)(F/P, 12%, 11) - 8000 (F/P, 12%, 11) + 5500(F/A, 12%, 11) + 33000

= -23000(5.4736) - 1200(4.7793)(3.4785) - 8000(3.4785) + 5500(20.6546) + 33000

= -27070.25

Therefore, The FW if MARR = 12% is -$27070.25.

c)

[23000 + 1200(P/A, 12%, 4) + 8800(P/F, 12%, 4)](F/P, i%, 15) = 5500 (F/A, 12%, 11) + 33000

[23000 + 1200(3.0373) + 8000(.6355)](F/P, i%, 15) = 5500(20.6546) + 3300

31725.76 (1 + i)^15 = 146600.3

ERR = 10.74%

Therefore, The ERR when externeal reinvestment rate per period is 12%. is 10.74%.

The rate of return earned on a U.S. Treasury bill is frequently used as a proxy for the:A. risk premium.B. deflated rate of retu
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

The correct answer is letter "C": risk-free rate.

Explanation:

The United States government issues a variety of debt obligations to finance its operations. Those with the shortest maturity are called Treasury Bills or T-Bills. One of the unique features of T-Bills is that the government does not make regular interest payments to the holder. Instead, the securities are sold at a price below its face value resulting in a profit at the maturity date.

T-Bills are seen as low-risk investments compared to other securities being the closest to risk-free return in the market.
