 The sentence C is applying the rules for cites correctly, by using the puntuation (<em>quotation marks and comma</em>) in <u><em>the right place</em></u>. When a short sentence is a direct quotation, the one that uses the <em>exact words of another writer, this cite needs to be between quotation marks, and a comma should follow the speaker's reporting verb (said, asked etc).</em>
