Gertrude is six months pregnant. She loves hamburgers and milkshakes. She is a woman of European descent who has anemia, but she

did not respond to iron supplements. Henry turned vegan three years ago after his father was diagnosed with cancer. He eats a diet of whole foods and does not use vitamin and mineral supplements. He also read a book by John Robbins about reclaiming health, which pointed out the environmental and resource inefficiencies of raising animal protein, the negative health data generated by the overuse of animal products, and the health-promoting characteristics of vegetarian diets. He was recently diagnosed with anemia and complained of numb, cold-feeling fingers and toes. What could be Gertrude's problem

Answer:

Sorry for the long explanation, but this should cover everything since I've had an assignment similar to this.

She could have another type of anemia besides iron deficiency anemia. A deficiency of Folate could be causing this. To correct her anemia, she needs more Dark green vegetables in her diet. Gertrude's unborn baby is also at risk for spina bifida. Henry could have a vitamin B12 deficiency because he doesn't consume animal products and doesn't take a vitamin B12 supplement. Henry can correct his deficiency and maintain his vegan lifestyle by taking a vitamin B12 supplement, eating foods that are designed for vegans, and have vitamin B12 added to them. It took 3 years for his deficiency to show up because Vitamin B12 can be stored long term in the liver.

Answer:

1. 3 aerobic exercises: long distance running such as a marathon, swimming (long distsnces), cycling (long distances). Most effective: the most effective exercise that is anaerobic doesn't exist. It all depends on the sport you are training for. Sport specific training is key. If you are a runer then running would be best. If you are swimmer then swimming is best etc. That being said, intensity matters as well. If you are not training at specific intensities that will stress your body then an adaptation will not be possible.

2. 3 anaerboic exercises: weight training, sprinting, plyometrics. Most effective: again depends on your goals.

3. AN AEROBIC SPORT: soccer

an anaerobic sport: powerlfiting

soccer requires aerobic glycolysis as your primary energy system. Uses carbohydrates as the primary fuel source. It is a long duration sport that requires one to run and sprint.

powerlifting: is a fast explosive sport. Doesnt require carbs. It relies on phosocreatine as the primary fuel source. Explosive movements at high intensities with maximal exertion.

see above.

Healthy or not healthy?
Ierofanga [76]
I agree and disagree. I disagree because with out meat she would not have protein , but if she ate eggs, tofu, and cheese she would have the protein.

So its healthy if she eats the eggs todu and cheese, but its unhealthy ( for her muscles ) to not have any protein.
