Biology

Answer;

-Skin cells have the crystallin gene but do not express it.

-Skin cells do not need crystallin for their function.

Explanation;

Crystallin protein has a specific function in lens cells, and skin does not make lenses. It would be wasteful to make protein that is not needed, and the crystallin protein might even have a detrimental effect if it were expressed in skin cells. So even though skin cells have the gene to make crystallin, they do not express that gene.

What is the difference between a species and a population?What is the difference between a species and a population?
WITCHER [35]

Answer:

A population is a group of organisms of the same species, in the same place

A species is a group of organisms that are genetically similar

Explanation:

I like to remember it with humans.

Humans (homo sapiens) are a species. We are all genetically similar and can share genetic material by reproduction.

In a city, a lot of humans are together and that is a population of humans

As a species however, we are all over the place

In pea plants purple flowers are dominant to white flowers.
algol13

Answer:

100%

Explanation:

This question involves a single gene coding for flower color in pea plants. The allele for purple flowers (P) are dominant to white flowers (p). This means that purple color will be expressed in a heterozygous state.

According to this question, If two white flowered plants are cross i.e. pp × pp, the following gametes will be produced by each of the parent: p and p. Using these gametes in a punnet square (see attached image), ALL (100%) of the offsprings will be white colored (pp).

Therefore, 100% of the offsprings will be white flowered.
