Protists belong to kingdom protista. These organisms madeup of a single cell and having membrane around the nucleus. Some protists are like fungi, some are like plants and some of them are like animals. The plants like protist such as algae have the ability to make their own food like plants due to the presence of chlorophyll in the process of photosynthesis.
