It was a time of mass production but due to a mentality of high production and low wages consumerism couldn't keep up. America was overproducing and with companies losing money people started to get laid off. Further spurring the Great Depression was the Stock Market Crash, with people buying stock on credit and people eventually discarding their stock in a mad dash it crashed. Despite the fact that the crash only affected a small percentage of the population it trickled down due to the fact that these were business owners. Unemployment rates skyrocketed.

On the bright side...the beginning of the 1920s was the end of a war and a huge economic boom. (Stock Market Crash didn't happen until 1929) Prohibition led to an era of rebellious teens, women drank and smoked, dressed "scandalously", and overall gained more freedom

What is the ratio of a deposit that the Fed requires banks to keep in reserve?
Elza [17]

Reserve ratio is the ratio of a bank's reserves to the amount of its demand deposits, i.e. its checking deposits. The Fed sets the required minimum ratio, currently 10%. Even with no specified minimum ratio, banks would have to maintain sufficient reserves to cover checks written by depositors and to provide cash on demand.

In what way did Christopher Columbus fail to meet his objective concerning his voyage in 1492?
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

C. His original objective in his 1492 voyage was to find a westerly route to the Orient. He never reached the Orient.

Explanation:

"Christopher Columbus" was an Italian explorer and a navigator. His voyage in 1492 was an endeavor to reach the Orient using the shortest path.

Columbus failed to reach the Orient and reached Indies, partly due to some error and partly due to the thought process. This route was shorter than the original route by approximately 7000 miles.

Columbus and his cruise had landed on islands surrounding Asia uncertain of the region where they landed. It is said that they stepped on the Watling Island.
