Christopher Columbus was a Christian. His journey was not motivated by religion, but by a desire to explore new land and obtain new riches for the Crown. However, he was still a Christian man, and he believed it best for everyone to be Christian as well. This led him to try to convert the Native people he met in his journeys, a pursuit that was approved by the Spanish royal family.
