We are trying to simplify the expression 7x+3-5x+8+4x-1

Simplify by like terms- like terms are numbers with the same variable to the same degree (ex. 5x and 28x, 3x^{2} and 7x^{2}, 3xy and 9xy) and also all constants are like terms (normal numbers ex. 9, 189, 3, -2)

So lets rearrange this equation

7x-5x+4x+3+8-1

Remember to bring along the negative or positive sign (don't think it as subtracting 5x, think of it as negative 5x)

All the numbers with x are like terms and a constants are like terms. So combine.

6x+10 is the simplified expression

If Kansas City is 108 miles away how many gallons of gas I needed to get there and then home
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

Well here's the issue...

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have no idea what car you'll be using for the experiment, I can't tell you how many times you will have to fill er' up either. let's say you have a fuel efficient car like 27 mpg. that's highway and city combined. (34/25) And the trip is 216 miles round trip. And let's say you used 0 gallons while you were there. You would need to fill up exactly 8 times to get there and back. That's going off of 27 miles per gallon.

Hope this helps!!

Jack bought 4 bagels for $3.00.How many bagels can he buy for $4.50?
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

He can buy 6 bagels.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to figure out how much each bagel is, you need to divide $3.00 by 4. This gives you .75 because 3.00/4=75. Each bagel is therefore $0.75. Now, in order to find how many bagels you can buy with $4.50, you have to divide 4.50 by 0.75. The equation is 450/75=6. You can buy 6 bagels with $4.50.

Let me know if you need any more help. Have a nice day. :)
