So what you need to do is multiply and add
56 miles PER HOUR
56 x 3 = 168 miles
so 15 minutes is 1/4 of an hour
56 x 0.25 = 14 miles (14 x 4 = 56)
14 + 168 = 182 miles (answer)

STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

255 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

306 can be subtracted by 102 a total of 3 times. We know that for every 102 miles = 85 minutes. So 85 * 3 = 255.

Jason jogged 2/3 mile in 1/3 hour. What was his speed in miles per hour?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

I honestly was having the worst time trying to solve this sorry :(, for real idk if any of these are right

i got 2 answers; 1st: ≈0.5 mph

the 2nd; 2 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

2/3 miles = 3520 feet

1/3 hours = 20 minutes

------Make a proportion-----

\frac{3520ft}{20min} = \frac{1 mi=5280 ft}{1hr = 60min}

cross multiply------

3520 * 60 = 211200

5280 * 20 = 105600

Divide \frac{211200}{105600}= 2

---(this is where i got confused cuz 2 doesn't make any sense)--

If you flip them, \frac{105600}{211200}=0.5 which makes more sense

hope i helped :(

A new car depreciates as soon as you drive it out of the parking lot. A certain car depreciates to half its original value in 4
Alexandra [31]

Answer:

Original price of car = $20,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the original price of the car be 'x' dollars.

Given:

Here, the depreciation of the car is occuring exponentially as the value depreciates to half in every four years.

Worth of car after 8 years = $5000

Value after depreciation in 4 years = Half of original value = \frac{x}{2}

So, value of car after depreciation in another 4 years = Half of the value after 4 years = \frac{1}{2}(\frac{x}{2})=\frac{x}{4}

Therefore, final depreciated value after 8 years is \frac{x}{4}.

But, as per question, final depreciated value is $5000. Thus,

\frac{x}{4}=5000\\x=5000\times 4\\x=20000

Therefore, the original price of the car was $20,000.

Twice the product of 3and a number exceeds the sum of the number and 80 by 10.what is the number?
Hatshy [7]
First, create an equation with the criteria given.

If we let x be your number,
2(3x) = 80 + x + 10
(2(3x) is twice the product of 3 and x, and if it exceeds x+80 by 10, then we add 10 to x+80 to make the two sides of the equation equal.)

Now, solve for x.

6x=90+x \\ 5x=90 \\ x=18
