Student to faculty is 17:3 The total is 740 how many students and faculty are at the college

Mathematics

Let the faculties be X and the number of students be Y.
X/Y = 17/3
3X= 17Y
X=17Y/3
Let that be equation 1
We also know that X+Y = 740. Let it be equation 2
Substitute equation 1 in equation 2
(17Y/3)+Y=  740
20Y/3 = 740
Y=111
Since the total is 740, then X equal 740-111 =629.
The number of faculties is 111 and the number of students is 629.

17+3 =20

so for every 20 people there are 17 students and 3 faculty

740/20 = 37

37*3 = 111 faculty

37 *17 = 629 students

Solve for x: 6x + 1 over 4 (4x + 8) > 12
sukhopar [10]

Answer:

A. x>\frac{10}{7}.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given an inequality 6x+\frac{1}{4}(4x+8)>12. We are asked to solve the given inequality for x.

Using distributive property, we will get:

6x+\frac{1}{4}*4x+\frac{1}{4}*8>12

6x+x+2>12

7x+2>12

Subtract 2 from both sides:

7x+2-2>12-2

7x>10

Divide both sides by 7:

\frac{7x}{7}>\frac{10}{7}

x>\frac{10}{7}

Therefore, option A is the correct choice.

Which value for x completes the conditional relative frequency table by column? 0. 17 0. 25 0. 40 0. 85.
matrenka [14]

A relative frequency table is a graph that depicts the popularity or pattern of a certain piece of data based on the population sampled. The value of x will be 85.

<h3>What is a relative frequency table?</h3>

A relative frequency table is a graph that depicts the popularity or pattern of a certain piece of data based on the population sampled.

When we examine the relative frequency, we examine the number of times a certain event happens in comparison to the overall number of events.

We have the following equation for the adult column;

\rm  x + 0.15 = 1

\rm  x = 1-0.15\\\\\rm  x = 0.85

Hence the value of x will be 85.

Find u in terms of m,g and v in this equation E = m/2g(v²-u²)<br>
igor_vitrenko [27]

Step-by-step explanation:

E = m/2g(v²-u²)

2g×E = 2g×m/2g(v²-u²)

2Eg = m(v²-u²)

2Eg = mv² - mu²

mu²= mv² -2Eg

mu²/m = mv² -2Eg /m

u²= v² -2Eg

u = √v²-√2Eg
