Answer:

Average Rate = 55mph

Step-by-step explanation:

Now it’s time to tackle the original question. Going from point A to point B, the cheetah traveled at an average rate of 70 mph. Returning to point A, the cheetah traveled at an average rate of 40 mph.

Can we say that this cheetah’s average rate was 55 mph?

a.The average rate for the trip is equal to the total distance traveled divided by the total time traveled.

Average Rate = 70+ 40/2= 110/2 = 55mph

Yes the average rate of the cheetah is 55 mph

The following equations represent the distance traveled on each leg of the trip.

First leg of trip: td=r1 t1= 70*t

Second leg of trip: td=r2 t2= 40*t

Write an equation for the average rate for the trip. Remember, the cheetah runs from point A to point B and back to point A.

Total distance = r1 t1+ r2 t2

Average rate = Total distance / total time

                        =  r1 t1+ r2 t2/ t1+ t2

                        =70t+ 40t/ 2t

                         =110t/2t

                          = 55mph

Use the procedures developed to find the general solution of the differential equation. (Let x be the independent variable.)
makkiz [27]

Solution :

Given :

2y''' + 15y'' + 24y' + 11y= 0

Let x = independent variable

(a_0D^n + a_1D^{n-1}+a_2D^{n-2} + ....+ a_n) y) = Q(x)  is a differential equation.

If Q(x) \neq 0

It is non homogeneous then,

The general solution  = complementary solution + particular integral

If Q(x) = 0

It is called the homogeneous then the general solution =  complementary solution.

2y''' + 15y'' + 24y' + 11y= 0

$(2D^3+15D^2+24D+11)y=0$

Auxiliary equation,

$2m^3+15m^2+24m +11 = 0$

-1  | 2    15    24     11

   <u> | 0   -2    - 13    -11  </u>

      2    13    11       0

∴ 2m^2+13m+11=0

The roots are

$=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$

$=\frac{-13\pm \sqrt{13^2-4(11)(2)}}{2(2)}$

$=\frac{-13\pm9}{4}$

$=-5.5, -1$

So, m_1, m_2, m_3 = -1, -1, -5.5

Then the general solution is :

$= (c_1+c_2 x)e^{-x} + c_3 \ e^{-5.5x}$

Julia wants to estimate the percentage of people who submit their tax returns online. She surveys 330 individuals and finds that
larisa86 [58]

Answer:  0.0432

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula of Margin of Error :-

E=z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\dfrac{p(1-p)}{n}}

Given : Sample size : n= 400

The proportion of individuals use public transportation.=\dfrac{65}{330}\approx0.20

Level of confidence = 0.95

Significance level : \alpha=1-0.95=0.05

Critical value : z_{\alpha/2}=1.96

Substitute the values in the given formula , we get

E=(1.96)\sqrt{\dfrac{0.2(1-0.2)}{330}}\\\\\Rightarrow\ E=0.043157779593\approx0.0432

Hence, the margin of error for the confidence interval for the population proportion with a 95% confidence level. = 0.0432
