Make a proportion the sales tax is a percent of the total purchase and you just have to figure that out. 1,200/100=72/x solving this i get 6% sales tax using that. I find the rest by taking 6% of 2500 =150. And for part b make another proprtion x/100=108/6. And i get 1800 dollars

A lumberyard will deliver wood for $7 per board foot plus a delivery charge of $10. Find a function C(x) for the cost (in dollar
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

C(x) = 7x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

If the delivery charge is $10 for any number of board feet ordered.

If the delivery charge is $10 for each board feet ordered, the function would

be C(x) = (7 + 10)x = 17x

The equation for the cross section of a parabolic satellite television dish is y = 1/45 x2, measured in inches. How far is the f
patriot [66]

Answer:

11.25

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation for a parabola is:

y − k = 1/(4p) (x − h)²

where (h, k) is the vertex and p is the distance from the focus to the vertex.

1/(4p) = 1/45

4p = 45

p = 11.25

The distance from the vertex to the focus is 11.25 inches.

7. The points P(2, -3), Q(3, -2) and R(8, z) are
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

z = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the points are collinear then the slopes between the points are equal.

Calculate the slope m using the slope formula

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = P (2, - 3) and (x₂, y₂ ) = Q (3, - 2)

m = \frac{-2+3}{3-2} = 1

Repeat with

(x₁, y₁ ) = Q (3, - 2) and (x₂, y₂ ) = R (8, z )

m = \frac{z+2}{8-3} = \frac{z+2}{5} , then

\frac{z+2}{5} = 1 ( multiply both sides by 5 )

z + 2 = 5 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

z = 3

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  c = 150p + 1000

Step-by-step explanation:

We know the variable cost is 150 per phone, so the total cost will be ...

  c = 150p +b . . . . for some value b

We also know the value of c for 8 phones, so we can find b:

  2200 = 150(8) + b

  2200 -1200 = b = 1000

Then the desired equation is ...

  c = 150p + 1000

Josie and her brothers and sisters measured their heights and found the mean averageThe mean was 150cmJosie forgot her height. C
Andrei [34K]

Answer:

135 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Jose's height = x

The mean of their heights = 150

Given the Heights:

150cm, 170cm, 140cm, 155cm

The mean is the sum if the heights divided by the number of people

Here :

(150 + 170 + 140 + 155 + x) / 5 = 150

(615 + x) / 5 = 150

615 + x = 750

x = 750 - 615

x = 135 cm
