So first you do 9 x 2 = 18. So that means that at the end of those 9 months, Jordan has a total of 18 books.

Well, you want to know how many more books does he need before he has bought 25. & that's an easy subtracting question.

So now you do 25 - 19 = 6.

So we now know that  Jordan will need to buy 6 more books before he gets to 25 all together.

I hope you understand ! (:

Suppose a sample of 30 employees from the manufacturing industry showed a sample mean of $23.89 per hour. Assume a population st
timama [110]

Answer:

The<em> p</em>-value of the test is 0.1212.

Step-by-step explanation:

A one sample <em>z</em>-test can be performed to determine whether the mean hourly wage differs from the reported mean of $24.57 for the goods-producing industries.

The hypothesis is defined as:

<em>H₀</em>: The mean hourly wage is same as the reported mean of $24.57 for the goods-producing industries, i.e. <em>μ</em> = $24.57.

<em>Hₐ</em>: The mean hourly wage differs from the reported mean of $24.57 for the goods-producing industries, i.e. <em>μ</em> ≠ $24.57.

The information provided is:

\bar x=\$23.89\\n=30\\\sigma=\$2.40

Compute the test statistic as follows:

z=\frac{\bar x-\mu}{\sigma/\sqrt{n}}=\frac{23.89-24.57}{2.40/\sqrt{30}}=-1.55

The test statistic value is, <em>z</em> = -1.55.

Compute the <em>p</em>-value of the test as follows:

p-value=2\times P(Z

*Use a <em>z</em>-table for the probability.

Thus, the<em> p</em>-value of the test is 0.1212.

Jim bought 6 pears and one pineapple for $8.50
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

Set variables for the quantities we want to find.

Let x = number of apples

Let y = number of oranges

Next, we use these variables to write equations that describes the whole story.

Since the total price is $7.75 and each type of fruit has their own price, we can say

0.40x + 0.35y = 7.55

The other equation will represent the total number of fruits bought all together, as Mark mentioned.  Once you have those equations, you solve the system using substitution and elimination methods to solve for the variables x and y.

Answer: b
explanation: CD=AB since they are parallel meaning 33 = x+14 (solve to get y=19) and then AD=CB because they are also parallel meaning y=10

Sergio039 [100]

a) The <em>perimeter</em> function of the rectangle is p = 18\cdot x -2\cdot x^{3}.

b) The domain of the <em>perimeter </em>function is x \in [-3, 3].

<h3>How to analysis the perimeter formula of a rectangle inside a parabola</h3>

a) The perimeter of a rectangle (p) is the sum of the lengths of its four sides:

p = AB\cdot AC (1)

If we know that AB = 2\cdot x and AC = 9-x^{2}, then the perimeter of the rectangle is represented by the following formula:

p = 2\cdot x \cdot (9-x^{2})

p = 18\cdot x -2\cdot x^{3}

The <em>perimeter</em> function of the rectangle is p = 18\cdot x -2\cdot x^{3}. \blacksquare

b) The domain of the function is the set of values of x associated to the function. After a quick inspection, we find that the domain of the <em>perimeter </em>function is x \in [-3, 3]. \blacksquare

<h3>Remark</h3>

The statement is incomplete and poorly formatted. The correct form is described below:

<em>As shown at the right, rectangle ABCD has vertices C and D on the x-axis and vertices A and B on the part of the parabola </em>y = 9-x^{2}<em> that is above the x-axis. a) Express the perimeter </em>p<em> of the rectangle as a function of the x-coordinate of A. b) What is the domain of the perimeter function?</em>
