Who was to blame for the Trojan War? The Greeks, the Trojans, the gods or a specific individual?
VikaD [51]
Well it started when Eris, the goddess of discord, wasn't invited to a party (a wedding or something along those lines). In anger, she created a golden apple, barged into the party, and threw it into the center of the table, saying "this apple is for whoever is the fairest." To summarize, three goddesses fought over the right to the apple. They decided that they should have someone choose instead of just fighting over it. The man that picked who deserved the apple was mortal, and he chose Aphrodite because she promised him the most beautiful woman of all.
The mortal did get Helen, but she was actually the soon to be wife of a very important King. The King thought she was kidnapped and this huge war broke out for over 8 years over Helena, Queen of Troy.

Why has canada been in in afghanistan
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

Canada's role in the Afghanistan War began in late 2001. Canada sent its first element of soldiers secretly in October 2001 from Joint Task Force 2, and the first contingents of regular Canadian troops arrived in Afghanistan in January–February 2002. Canada took on a larger role starting in 2006 after the Canadian troops were redeployed to Kandahar province. 2,500 Canadian Forces (CF) personnel were in Afghanistan and 1,200 made up the combat battle group. At the 2012 NATO Summit in Chicago, Prime Minister Step…

The above poem refers to a basketball player who, during the game, is reflecting on whether or not to steal a base. The tension of the game and the reflection makes the player tense, anxious and apprehensive. These sensations, as well as the scenario in which the poem is established, are made with the use of figurative language that is established with the use of similes, where the poet compares the player's situation with other elements. The use of figurative language through similes can be seen in the lines:

"Both ways taut like a tightrope-walker, "

"Now bouncing tiptoe like a dropped ball "

"Taunts them, hovers like an ecstatic bird, "

Figurative language aims to use words that have one meaning, to express another meaning. This expression is made subjectively and not literally. In the lines above, figurative language is used to show how tense, agile and attentive the player was.
