Answer:

Point B is (7,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

point A to point B is 7 units apart and 1 unit down.

then from point M you do the same thing based on the slope, you move 7 units right from point M and lastly move 1 unit down which the coordinate point for B should be (7,3).

Answer:

RS = XY (since the two a triangles are similar, you have to match the sides up and then set the values equal to eachother to find the value of x)

3x +2 = 5x -3 (subtract 5x from both sides)

-2x +2 = -3 (subtract 2 from both sides)

-2x = -5 (divide both sides by -2 to isolate x)

x = 2.5 (take the value of x and plug it into the expression given for RS)

3(2.5) +2 (multiply)

7.5 +2 (add)

9.5 (this is the length of RS)

Step-by-step explanation:

I hope this helps :)

The profit function, y, for selling x shirts is given by the equation y=-0.1x^2+10x. What is the maximum value of the profit, y?
Alex73 [517]
2 ways
1 calcluls
2. algebra

calculus, just take the deritivive and find wher it is 0
y=-0.2x+10
at x=50
sub 50 for x in original
y=250

algebra
for
y=a(x-h)²+k
(h,k) is vertex
k is maximum value

complete the square
y=(-0.1x²+10x)
y=-0.1(x²-100x)
take 1/2 of -100 and square it and add negative and positive inside
-100/2=-50, (-50)²=2500
y=-0.1(x²-100x+2500-2500)
factor perfect square
y=-0.1((x-50)²-2500)
exand
y=-0.1(x-50)²+250

vertex at (50,250)
producing 50 units yeilds a sale price of $250

max price is $250

a baseball pitcher won 80% of the games he pitched. If he pitched 35 ballgames, how many game did he win?
LuckyWell [14K]
If the baseball pitcher won 80% of the games he pitched and he pitched 35 ballgames, and you would like to know how many games did he win, you can calculate this using the following steps:

80% of 35 = 80% * 35 = 80/100 *35 = 28 games

Result: The baseball pitcher won 28 games.
