3 times (2x + 5) is 6x + 15.

6x + 15 = 9 + 3x.

Group by like terms. 6 = -3x

Divide to get x by itself. 6/-3 = -2

Thus -2 = x

Akira receives a prize at a science fair for having the most informative project. Her trophy is in the shape of a square pyramid
PolarNik [594]

Akira needs 45 square inches of  gold foil to cover the chair free including the bottom

Step-by-step explanation:

Total surface  =  surface area of the base square + area of 4 triangles

Step 1: The surface area of the base square

surface area of the base = surface area of the square =

where s is the side length

The the surface area of the base  = = 9 square inches

Step 2: The surface area of the side triangles

The area of the triangle =

On substituting the values,

The area of the triangle =

The area of the triangle =

The area of the triangle = 9 square inches

Now the area of 4 triangles  =  4 x 9  = 36 square inches

Thus the total surface area  =  9 + 36 = 45 square inches

Does addition in the whole numbers have the cancellation property.
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

Although the cancellation law holds for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of real and complex numbers (with the single exception of multiplication by zero and division of zero by another number), there are a number of algebraic structures where the cancellation law is not valid.

Which function has a simplified base of 4 ^3 sqrt 4?
marusya05 [52]
We have
4^{3} * \sqrt{4}

We start by calculating square root:
4^{3} *2

We can rewrite 4 in base of 2:
( 2^{2}) ^{3}*2

Now we can calculate this by using rule of same base and different exponent:
2^{6}*2^{1} =2^{7} =128
