For one you have to find the circumference of the which is 3.14 times diameter then divide 5280 which is a mile by the circumference that would be the answer

for two you have to take 1920 which is the 80 times 24, then take the circumference of the earth and divide it by 1920

A rectangle that is 2 inches by 3 inches has been scaled by a factor of 7.
loris [4]

Answer:

New\ Lengths = (14,21)

New\ Scale\ Factor = \frac{1}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Rectangle:

Length = 2 in

Width = 3 in

Scale Factor = 7

Solving (a):

The side lengths of the new scale is calculated as follows;

New Lengths = Old Lengths * Scale Factor

New\ Lengths = (2,3) * 7

New\ Lengths = (2 * 7,3* 7)

New\ Lengths = (14,21)

Solving (b): To go back to the original length

Given that the initial scale factor is 7;

The new scale factor is the reciprocal of the old factor;

Hence;

New\ Scale\ Factor = \frac{1}{7}

What is the ultimate goal when solving equations? What do you want your final answer to look like?
STALIN [3.7K]

Answer:

\huge\boxed{\text{To get x on one side of the equation:} \ \ x = ...}

Step-by-step explanation:

When we solve for an equation, our goal is to find the value of the variable. Any variable can be used, but for the time being let’s assume we use x.

We can algebraeically solve equations until we get the value of x - in which we will have x equal to something.

Say we have the equation 5x+5=20. Our goal is to find the value of x. <u>We can do this by getting x isolated on one side so we have something equal to x</u>.

We can subtract 5 from both sides and divide both sides by 5.

5x=15\\\\x=3

We now know the value of x since it’s on one side of the equation.

Hope this helped!

The fish population in a local stream is decreasing at a rate of 2.5% per year. The original population was 45,000. Write an exp
Julli [10]

Answer:

y=45000(1-0.03)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

1) the exponential decay formula is

y=c(1-r)^x

where c= starting amount

r=rate of change

x=time

so

y=45000(1-0.03)^x

y=45000-1350x
