a small group of wealthy families known as an aristocracy was at the center of early Japanese society. True or False?
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer: True

Explanation:

Japan operated a very strong aristocratic government during the early Japanese period with the aristocracy controlling Japanese society even though they only comprised of very few families.

These families would sometimes fight against each other in order to gain more control in the empire even though they would keep the emperor safe. They would then use the emperor as a mere figurehead who wouldn't control much to give themselves legitimacy.
