A _______ should follow a dependent clause when the dependent clause comes first in a sentence.
mario62 [17]

A comma should follow a dependent clause when the dependent clause comes first in a sentence.

A dependent clause is the clause which cannot stand alone in its meaning on the other hand independent clause refers to the phrase which can stand alone, though both have a subject and a verb.

For instance,

 • Because she was eating
 • Since the boys were playing

The above sentences are dependent clause since it doesn't convey complete meaning.

Hence, to complete the meaning we put a comma before the independent clause and after the dependent clause to convey its meaning.

Hence the above examples would be written as :

 • Because she was eating, she didn't speak.
 • Since the boys were playing, they missed their English class.

On the other hand, when an independent clause appears first in the sentence we don't put a comma between independent and dependent clauses. For example,

She didn't speak because she was eating.

What is the author's purpose in Libraries face sad
just olya [345]

Answer:

The author used persuasive well in this story. He made a powerful message in this story. The powerful message that this short story is saying, is that teenagers should put down all the technology they use today. Instead they should just go to the nearest library and read a book, because it provides a quiet place to let our imagination run free.

I think this story appeals to all audiences, but mostly teenagers. In this short story, Pete Hamill was mainly talking about his childhood experiences with libraries and books. He talks about how most parents and teachers beg their children to read, and his teachers didn't have to do that.

Libraries are a very important part of life. they help people with many things and people should help earn money to keep public libraries available to people.
