(2x + 5) \times( x - 2) \\  = 2x(x) + 2x( - 2) + 5(x) + 5( - 2) \\  = 2 {x}^{2}  + ( - 4x) + 5x + ( - 10) \\  = 2 {x}^{2}  - 4x + 5x - 10 \\  = 2 {x}^{2}  + x - 10
The answer is 2x^2 + x - 10

butalik [34]

Answer:

The equation is following the mathematical rule of multiplying exponents.

Step-by-step explanation:

As an example to back up the answer, when you have half of a dollar, that is $0.50, if you took a half (1/2) of $0.50 that would be one fourth (1/4) of a dollar, but half of 50 cents ($0.50) A similar thing is happening with this problem. When you have two numbers (2 and 4) when you multiply them together, they equal to eight (8) for this problem, when you multiply two exponents together, you are raising the coefficient (a real number like 6) to the power of 2, and then taking that number and multiplying it by the power of 4. This is similar to the half of 50 cents, is equal to 1/4 of dollar  ($0.25)

Hope this helps explain multiplying exponents together, and the mathematical rule behind it.

Find the measure of CP
dmitriy555 [2]

Given:

A figure ABCP.

To find:

The measure of CP.

Solution:

In triangles ABP and CBP,

\angle PAB\cong \angle PCB            (Given right angles)

\angle ABP\cong \angle CBP            (Given)

BP=BP            (Common side)

Now,

\Delta ABP\cong \Delta CBP        (By AAS property of congruence)

We know that the corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent.

AP=CP

8=CP

Therefore, the measure of CP is 8 units.

Maya runs a farm stand that sells raspberries and blueberries. Each pound of raspberries sells for $1 and each pound of blueberr
aniked [119]

30 pounds of raspberries and 50 pounds of blueberries are sold

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "a" be the pounds of raspberries sold

Let "b" be the pounds of blueberries sold

Cost per pound of raspberry = $ 1

Cost per pound of blue berry = $ 3.25

<em><u>Maya made $192.50 from selling a total of 80 pounds of raspberries and blueberries</u></em>

Therefore,

a + b = 80

a = 80 - b ------- eqn 1

<em><u>Maya made $192.50. Therefore, frame a equation as:</u></em>

pounds of raspberries sold x Cost per pound of raspberry + pounds of blueberries sold x Cost per pound of blue berry = 192.50

a \times 1 + b \times 3.25 = 192.50

a + 3.25b = 192.50 ------ eqn 2

<em><u>Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2</u></em>

<em><u>Substitute eqn 1 in eqn 2</u></em>

80 - b + 3.25b = 192.50

2.25b = 192.50 - 80

2.25b = 112.5

Divide both sides by 2.25

b = 50

<em><u>Substitute b = 50 in eqn 1</u></em>

a = 80 - 50

a = 30

Thus 30 pounds of raspberries and 50 pounds of blueberries are sold
